I recently travelled with a small group to Morocco (14).  None of the guests knew each other and we spent most of our day's on a small bus or seeing the sights together.  The majority of the group were all super kind, fun people.  Don't you know there's always "THAT ONE" in every group.  I have met some self-centered, obnoxious people in my life, but this one tops them all.  We'll call her Ursula to protect the guilty...

The very first day on this trip we were visiting the largest Mosque in all Africa.  We were asked by our Muslim guide to please cover our heads while we are in the mosque.  Ursula decided she wasn't going to.  She walks through the whole mosque with no head covering then challenges our guide on his religion while standing in the Mosque! SMH... and that was just the first hour of the first day.  It was like this vacation was hers only and no one else existed.  We were doing a walking tour through the old medina's and she decides she wants to shop.  Not only does she walk away from the group, she grabs our tour guide to go with her.

The next day we are all to meet at the bus at 9:00 am.  Ursula decides to arrive at 9:25 and parks herself in the front seat of the bus.  Now we had all received an email before the trip asking us to kindly rotate seats so everyone gets a chance to sit up front. Do you think Ursula cares?  Nope.  Every morning she would go to the bus and put her bag in the seat.  When others questioned her about not rotating seats she says she didn't get the email. SMH...

Tension rises within the group by the third day people are figuring out that Ursula is incredibly disrespectful and rude.  Riding along on another long bus ride from point a to point b Ursula decides to tell an anti-Muslim joke to our Muslim tour guide!  By this point I decided to start keeping track of her rudeness.  I could write a book but will try to keep this a bit shorter and just list a few:

-Answers her phone in a meeting with the tour companies owner ON SPEAKER right next to him. She would also answer her phone on speaker in our little bus..

-Refuses a table at a restaurant. The tour guide paid the waiter to move us (pretty sure he didn't get paid back).

-I was sleeping with my legs across the seat, when the tour guide was announcing the town we were driving into, she hit my feet to wake me up!

-She reached over my husband's head and shut his air vent.  He reached up and opened it right back up.

-She complained that the "call to prayer" was waking her up.

-When every single other guest was wanting to stop at a different restaurant, she said no so we couldn't switch.  After eating she complained about the food.

And there's so much more.  She had the potential to ruin this trip for everyone involved. Please, please, please if you recognize yourself in any of these examples:

-DO NOT TRAVEL WITH A GROUP!

-or better yet, don't travel at all.

-Please don't say you are from the United States.
